Draft for the mockup. Final wording needs legal review before launch.
Moderation policy
We remove harm, not negativity. A true, well-documented complaint stays up.
What you can post
Your own first-hand experience of a business, brand, product or place. Honest opinion. Photos of what happened: the product, a redacted receipt, the premises.
What we remove
- Posts about people. Targets are businesses, brands, products and places. Naming an employee is not allowed, even if true.
- Personal information: phone numbers, emails, addresses, ID or card numbers, identifiable faces.
- Unsupported allegations of crime. Describe what happened to you, not what you think the company is secretly doing.
- Threats, harassment and hate.
- Spam, promotion and posts about something you have no experience of.
- Explicit or illegal images.
How decisions are made
- Automated checks hold or limit posts that look risky. They do not decide removals on their own, except for clear cases such as explicit images.
- A reported post is taken out of feeds and scores while a person looks, then restored or removed.
- You are told which rule applied, and you can appeal once.
Companies
Companies can reply and mark issues resolved. They cannot remove posts, and nothing on ycomplain can be paid for to change a score or a post.
Legal requests
If you believe a post is unlawful, use the takedown form. It goes to a person, and the author can respond.
